CoD: Vanguard Story
Although there is a formula that works, I am sure that the players are tired of this situation now. However, our game has chosen a slightly different path instead of telling a very straight war story.
What is the story of Call of Duty Vanguard?
The story mode of our game actually takes place in 1945. However, as I just said, they describe the game with a different formula. Besides the main story, our game constantly flashes back to the years 1941–1944. These comebacks do not occur chronologically. We experience great battles like Stalingrad and Midway through flashbacks through the eyes of our main heroes. It's about a special forces force whose first mission in the game is to uncover and block a secret Nazi project.
The name of this secret project is Phoenix. We are part of a specially formed team. Our special force is called Task Force Vanguard, just like the name of the game. The leader of our team, Arthur Kingsley, is accompanied by Richard Webb, Russian army sniper Polina Petrova, American pilot Wade Jackson, Australian Lucas Riggs, and Partisan fighter Milos Novak. We observe the stories of these companion characters along with the flashbacks and get the opportunity to learn about the motivation behind them all joining the group.
Pilot Wade
We are having our first comeback with United States Navy pilot Wade Jackson. He is a pilot who participated in the great Midway battle. In 1943, while attacking the Imperial Japanese army, his plane was attacked and crashed. With his friend Mateo, they are captured by Japanese soldiers. Our duo, who were later rescued by another American division, help the division to take back the island they are on.
Lucas Riggs
In August 1941, 2nd Lieutenant Lucas Riggs was stationed in Tobruk, Libya as part of the Australian-led Rats of Tobruk garrison. After a failed ambush attempt against a German convoy, Riggs is tasked with rescuing supplies for the British Army, along with Private Rat Desmond "Des" Wilmot and British Lieutenant Richard Jacobs. Riggs, Des, and Jacobs manage to find intelligence on General Erwin Rommel and destroy an enemy warehouse in the process, but are arrested for insubordination by Major Henry Hamms. In October 1942, during the Second Battle of El Alamein, Riggs and the Rats are ordered by Hamms to form a defensive line, but Riggs does not obey the command and tries to retake a hill and call in bomber support, with Des backing him up. The two succeed, but Des is killed in action. Enraged that the rats' contribution to the fight is being ignored, Riggs punches Hamms in frustration, causing him to face jail time.
Fearless Polina
Perhaps one of the biggest events of the Second World War was the occupation of Stalingrad, which took place in 1942. During this bloody occupation, Polina Petrova, a Russian army nurse, had to live through this war alive. The reason why I say "bloody alive" is that she couldn't save his father and had to watch him executed by enemy troops. However, Polina, who managed to save herself and her brother from the enemy forces, decides to track Leo Steiner, the commander in charge of the invasion. Meanwhile, she is nicknamed "Lady Nightingale." Even if she captures Leo one year after the invasion, the assassination attempts fail, and her brother sacrifices himself to save her. Then, burning with vengeance, Polina finally achieves her goal and becomes an inspiration to the people of Stalingrad.
Sarcastic Arthur
Perhaps the most important point of the war has always been the Normandy coast. Our paratrooper, Arthur Kingsley, sets out with the Allied forces to aid the invasion of Normandy in 1944. Arthur, who managed to destroy several bridges with the Merville Gun Battery, makes a very useful friendship here.
Vanguard
We have learned the motivation of our team. Our team of five people and a sixth soldier named Milos Novak, who later joined them, gathered together to form the special operations force. Kingsley is appointed as their leader. Our team seizes a train traveling to Hamburg to learn about Phoenix, the Nazi program run by the German Freisinger. Our team later infiltrates a submarine, but the escaped Freisinger captures and kills Novak. Later, Webb is executed, and the entire team is completely demoralized.
Later, our team learns the purpose of the enemy group. Freisinger's aim is to plan a coup to determine the new Führer. Injured by Hitler's death and the occupation of Berlin, our team infiltrates Freisinger's plane, where they decipher many documents. Having uncovered all the covert Nazi operations, our team sets out to stop them.
