Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Review

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Review

Cyberpunk 2077 had bugs and a lack of gameplay mechanics that disappointed most players when it was released. Still, some players found the game playable because they liked the world, atmosphere, and design that Cyberpunk 2077 offered.

However, as players, although we wanted Cyberpunk 2077 to have at least half of the mechanics it promised, unfortunately, we did not get what we wanted. Exactly three years after the game's release, it has become what we wanted with the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update.

In this article, we will take a look at what Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update offers and how the game has become more fun.

Improved AI

You may remember that when Cyberpunk 2077 first came out, NPCs preferred to run towards the player and die, regardless of their weapons and abilities. However, thanks to the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update, NPCs have gained tactical intelligence and started to attack players in a more complex pattern. Now, when you start a battle, netrunner NPCs will hide in the back rows and make quick hack attacks, while NPCs using shotguns and melee weapons will run to you and protect the netrunners. Meanwhile, NPCs using submachine guns and long-barrelled guns will restrict your movements with their bullets. We are sure that even these small changes will increase the challenge level of battles.

Estus Flask

When Cyberpunk 2077 first launched, players could enter battles with 300+ MaxDoc sprays in their pocket. However, after the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update, a cooldown was added for healing goods, and you can only carry two MaxDocs at a time. If you have played Diablo IV, Dark Souls, or Elden Ring, we can say that you are familiar with this mechanic.

Armor Changes

If you are tired of wearing ugly jackets and glasses in the old Cyberpunk 2077 version just because they give you more armour points, the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update has brought good news for you! After this update, no civilian clothing will give players armour points. Additionally, Kevlar and military clothing will provide additional benefits depending on its landscape.

Now, if you want to increase your armour score, you will need to visit the markets of different ripperdocs and find the subcutaneous armour implant that best suits your build!

cyberpunk latest version review

This update touched us deeply because, in a world where civilian clothes gave 200 armour points, all civilians had the possibility of being a potential one-man army. However, thanks to the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update, civilians will remain just civilians, while NPCs belonging to companies such as MaxTac will be stronger.

Mitigation System

While it has become difficult to earn armour points and not every build is suitable for wearing armour, CD Project Red, which wants agility-based characters to be durable, has finally decided to add an evade/dodge system to the game. This system allows you to avoid incoming attacks while moving, crouching, and running. Each player has 50% mitigation by default, this value can be increased with different implants and skills.

Improved Close Combat

One of the sentences we used when criticizing Cyberpunk 2077 when it was first released was "Even Dying Light has more fun melee combat mechanics." Finally, CD Project Red heard our complaint and added a improved melee combat system to the game with the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update. We can say that the melee weapons in the game are more functional and fun to play.

Challenging Police Chases

In the first version of Cyberpunk 2077, no matter how many police officers you killed, you could never fight powerful police officers of your level. Also, running away from the cops and disappearing was the easiest part of the game. However, thanks to the game's new police system, the more crimes you commit, the more powerful security teams you will be hunted by.

Cyberpsychosis

All Cyberpunk lovers were disappointed that the cyberpsycho mechanic, which was introduced to us in the Cyberpunk Rulebook and even in the Edgerunners, was not included in the video game. With the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update, you will now be able to turn into a cyberpsycho by affecting your brain with the cyberware you implant in your body. We guarantee that if you implant cyberware beyond your body and technical level, you will quickly go crazy. Additionally, instead of a cyberware-based character, you can decide to play with builds that do not require you to implant cyberware, such as Netrunner.

More Cosmetic More Fun

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update allows players to change their appearance at any time. You can also access different types of vehicles, houses, and clothes in the game. However, if these are not enough for you, you can improve the game by modding it!
