At this stage of the game, I recommend you farm by killing the small creatures in Greyoll's Dragonbarrow. Even though they are small, they are likely to one-shot you with the spear-like weapon they hold. However, although their damage is high, they have low health so you can kill them before they have a chance to attack you. Also, the number of enemies you need to watch out for at a time is only one, as they are single rather than wandering around in groups. They will provide you with 1034 runes each time you kill them. If you move quickly in the area using the torrent, you can farm around 15,000 runes per minute.
Golden Scarab Talisman and Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot
If you want to make rune farming effective, there are two items you can use in Elden Ring. The first of these is the Golden Scarab, a rune talisman that increases your rune earnings by 20%.
