Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Beginner Guide - All Early Scadutree and Spirit Ashes Locations

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree debuted and stunned thousands of players with its difficulty level. The reason why the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is so challenging compared to the base game is that the game uses a new system to get stronger. According to this system, to strengthen your character's stats, you must collect items called Scadutree Fragments and level up your character stats like you strengthen your Estus Flask. Since your damage and defence are insufficient in the early stages of the game, even the weakest enemies are deadly to you. There are a total of 50 Scadutree Fragments (20 levels in total) in the game and each of them is in different locations. Moreover, Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree gives players an exit ticket, allowing you to reach Level 5 by collecting Scadutree Fragments without having to fight any boss. Church of Consolation – 2 Scadutree Fragment

After entering the Elden Ring DLC ​​map, you can find the first Scadutree Fragment items in the game by heading east from the Gravesite Plain Grace. Church of Consolation is one of the abandoned churches on the map where there are no NPCs. Once inside the church, you will find two Scadutree Fragments under the statue of Marika.

Three-Path Cross – 1 Scadutree Fragment

After collecting the first two Scadutree Fragments from the Church of Consolation, you need to reach Scorched Ruins by heading northwest and follow the path. As you follow the path north, you will find the Three-Path Cross Grace. Here you will encounter several NPCs and the first Miquella Cross you will encounter in the game. Miquella Crosses have the same function as trees from which you collect Golden Seeds in the main game. If you see a Miquella Cross, you can be sure to find at least one Scadutree Fragment underneath it. You can also find a Scadutree Fragment under the Miquella Cross in this location, and you can have 3 Scadutree Fragments in total without having to engage in any battle.

Main Gate Cross – 1 Scadutree Fragment

After collecting the Scadutree Fragment item at the Three-Path Cross Grace, you can find the Main Gate Cross Grace by going directly west. Next to this teleport point, you will come across a Miquella's Cross and a Scadutree Fragment item underneath. By collecting this item, you can continue your journey with a total of 4 Scadutree Fragments.

Cliffroad Terminus – 1 Scadutree Fragment

To continue collecting Scadutree Fragments and getting stronger quickly in the Elden Ring DLC, instead of going forward from the Main Gate Cross Grace and entering the Belurath tower, you need to return the way you came and proceed to the southern slopes.

By following the slope in the location on the map, you can discover the Lost Grace, Cliffroad Terminus, and prepare for the next Scadutree Fragment. After unlocking the Grace, you can find another Scadutree Fragment by heading southwest at the point we marked with the treasure chest on the map below.

Castle Front – 1 Scadutree Fragment

After collecting the Scadutree Fragment on the hillside, we need to return to Three-Path Cross, our first Grace. This time, instead of going west or east, you need to go directly northwest and cross the huge stone bridge. After crossing the stone bridge, continue heading northwest to find the Castle Front Grace. You can find the next Scadutree Fragment item at the base of a small Marika statue near the Castle Front Grace.

Miquella Cross – 1 Scadutree Fragment

You can go forward from the Castle Front Grace, cross the small bridge and head north-east to find the next Miquella Cross. Below this Cross you will find another Scadutree Fragment.

Pillar Path Cross – 1 Scadutree Fragment

You can reach the next Scadutree Fragment by following the path heading east from the Castle Front Grace. All you have to do is follow the path and find the slope in the north-east of the path. On this slope, you will find a Miquella's Cross, NPC, and Scadutree Fragment. Although NPCs are important for exploring the story of the game, we recommend that you do not attack them.

If you successfully obtain all Scadutree Fragments, you will have 8 Scadutree Fragments in total. These are enough to level your Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree to 5.

Revered Spirit Ash

If your personal level-up is not enough for you and you want to strengthen your horse and summons, you need the Revered Spirit Ash item. By collecting these items, you can increase the damage your summons and Torrent deal while reducing the damage they take.

East of Scorched Ruins – 1 Spirit Ash

To find the first Spirit Ash power-up, you need to head northeast of the Gravesite Plain Grace, which is the DLC entry. You can collect the first Spirit Ash on the eastern slope of the Scorched Ruins area.

Abandoned Ailing Village – 1 Spirit Ash

Start heading north from the Three-Path Cross Grace, in the middle of the path you will see the Greatbridge, North Grace. You can find the Abandoned Ailing Village location in the northeast of this Grace and collect your second Spirit Ash in the north of the village.

Belurat, Tower Settlement – 1 Spirit Ash

You need to find the Belurat tower by heading west of the Three-Path Cross Grace. After entering the Belurat tower, before you encounter any bosses, you will see a strange statue with horns. Under this statue, you will find another Spirit Ash.

Stagefront – 1 Spirit Ash

As you continue to progress through the Belurat tower, you will climb higher and higher on the map. You will see a huge tree opposite the Stagefront, one of the Grace you will find in this tower. When you proceed to the giant tree, you will find another strange statue opposite the tree. You can find a Spirit Ash under this statue.

Cliffroad Terminus – 1 Spirit Ash

Return to the Cliffroad Terminus Grace you unlocked while collecting the Scadutree Fragment power-up and head east. As you move east, you will encounter a lake. Across the lake, you will see a strange statue standing on the edge of the cliff facing the lake. You can find another Spirit Ash under this statue.

Ellac River Cave – 1 Spirit Ash

The next Spirit Ash buff is hidden inside a cave instead of the open world. To explore this cave, you need to follow the path east from the Castle Front Grace and head down the eastern slopes. Before heading down the hillside, you'll encounter a knight admiring the view. You can sneak up on the knight, kill him easily, and secure the cliffs leading down. After going down, you can find the cave entrance behind the huge poisonous flowers. Once you enter the cave, head west and you will discover the Ellac River Cave Grace. But before the Grace, you can find another strange statue on the right and collect the Spirit Ash from under it.

Once you collect all Spirit Ashes, you can buff your summons and Torrent up to level five. This way, as you get stronger, your horse can continue to get stronger with you instead of dying in one attack.
