How to Access Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC Beginner Guide

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, which has been eagerly awaited by fans for a long time, has finally been released. Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree offers new enemies and bosses, different weapons and the ash of wars, unique landscapes, and a compelling experience. Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree expansion pack offers a challenging experience no matter what your path is, as it has its own level and power system. However, to turn it into the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, you need to defeat two different bosses; Radahn and Mohg. With only 39.5% of players continuing to defeat Mohg, you'll have to do some work to get into the DLC. If you don't know how to get into the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, we have prepared a short guide for you!

Road to Radahn

To start the Elden Ring DLC, you first need to find Radahn, who can control the sky and gravity. To reach Radahn, you must complete the first two bosses of the game, Marget, the Fell Omen and Godrick the Grafted. This way you can open the way to Radahn and start the great festival. After defeating these two bosses, you need to move towards the north of the map and start Ranni's missions. As you follow Ranni's quests, you can start the quest to kill Radahn and participate in the festival with your different comrades.

Tips for Killing Radahn

Radahn is a boss we encounter in the middle stages of the game. Even though he has powerful AoE attacks, he is one of the bosses that can be killed easily. First of all, when you enter the battlefield, you can deflect the arrows Radahn will shoot by riding your horse. Afterwards, to kill Radahn, all you have to do is constantly roll towards his feet. You can dodge any of his attacks this way and reduce his health by using openings. When Radahn is at half health, he will launch into the sky and perform his meteor landing attack. To avoid this attack, do not change your camera and character angle when Radahn jumps into the sky, Radahn will always come in front of you. This way you can dodge his meteor attack. We recommend that you strengthen your weapon to the last level before entering the Radahn battle.

Reaching Mohg – The Snowfield Method

There are two different methods to reach Mohg. The first of these methods is to open a shortcut by combining two parts of the Haligtree Secret Medallion. You can find the left piece of the Haligtree Secret Medallion in Castle Sol in the snowy part of the map. After completing the battles here, you can collect the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Left) item by talking to a ghost on the top floor of the castle.

You can find the right piece of the medallion in the Village of the Albinaurics location in the middle stages of the game, before completing the Hogwarts boss. After entering this village, you can get the other piece of the coin by talking to an old man who imitates a pot. If you do not want to talk to the old man, you can get the other piece of the medallion by killing him.

After combining the two pieces of the medallion, you need to go to Snowfield, the snowy region of the map, and find the Grand Lift of Rold Grace. After opening the secret area by combining the medallion, you can find the secret portal by heading north and teleporting to Mohg's area. To unlock this portal, you must first kill an NPC on the map.

Reaching Mohg – Varre Method

If killing NPCs doesn't bother you, you can reach Mohg with Varre's quests, which is a more brutal method. To reach Mohg through the Varre quests, you first need to kill Radahn and get his great rune. Afterwards, you need to talk to the NPC next to the giant two fingers on the Round Table. Afterwards, the portal that you can use to reach Verra will open.

After finding Verra, you must complete his quests. There are two methods to complete Verra's missions, online and offline. In the online method, you must invade other players' worlds using the 5 bloody fingers that Verra gave you. In the offline method, you must find and kill an NPC near Writheblood Ruins that Verra wants you to kill.

After killing the NPC, you need to return to Verra and get the Lord of Blood's Favor item. While completing the Verra quests, try to talk to him at least three times during the stages. This way, you can complete missions and get the Lord of Blood's Favor item without missing any dialogue. Once you get this item, you need to cover it with the blood of a maiden. To do this, you can go to the Church of Inhibition and use the dead maiden's blood there, or you can kill the NPC named Irana that you encounter in the early stages of the game. Although Irana has her own quest line, her quests are about the story of the game. For this reason, you can choose other methods instead of killing her.

After completing these stages, you can return to Verra, complete the quest, and get the Pureblood Knight's Medal item. But keep in mind that while completing the missions, Verra will cut off your index finger and give it to you. For this reason alone, it may be more attractive to use the first method. Using the item Verra gives at the end of the mission, you can teleport directly to Mohg's region and start the battle.

Mohg, Lord of Blood

The most important feature that distinguishes Mohg from other bosses is his blood attacks. While blood is his weapon, it is also his weakness. It's easier to kill Mohg if you have a set that deals bleeding damage. If you have a character that deals fire damage, unfortunately, Mohg is twice as resistant to fire. If you have a weapon with bleeding accumulation, you can equip it with an Ash of War that continues to attack as long as you hold it down, such as Spinning Strikes, Stormcaller, Spinning Slash and Wild Strikes, and you can kill Mohg in 10 seconds. If you are playing as a mage, you can kill Mohg in 10 seconds by using the Comet Azur spell. If you have a character who uses faith spells, you can kill Mohg without taking any damage by using your ranged spells.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Entrance

After killing Mohg, you can find the Elden Ring DLC entry by going to the dangling hand in the animation you saw at the beginning of the battle. After killing Mohg, you need to rest in the Cocoon of the Empyrean and let the map update. You will encounter an NPC named Leda in front of the DLC entrance, don't forget to talk to her!

After interacting with the hand, you can enter the realm of shadow, the final destination! After challenging battles and complex missions, you have managed to enter the DLC area, now you can start a unique 50-hour experience exploring the game's new power system, different bosses and enemies, good luck!
