Game Mechanics
If you have played a game from the Age of Empires series before, the gameplay of Dune: Spice Wars will be familiar to you. The most important difference between Dune: Spice Wars is that it has slow gameplay. So, you will have more time to make a move or decide. In other words, since the gameplay is slow, it progresses at the same pace as turn-based strategy games.
Another basic mechanic of the game is to gain access to resources before your opponent by producing the soldiers of the faction you choose. We are sure that you will be close to victory if you quickly access resources from your opponents and make the most of them.
Gameplay
At the start of the game, you must choose one of four different factions in the Dune universe.
Factions
These factions are Atreides, Harkonnen, Smuggler, and Fremen. The feature of the Atreides faction is that they can peacefully capture the villages you will control in the game and have high confidence in council meetings. The Harkonnen faction's specialty is that its military forces have bonuses. If you have chosen the Smuggler faction, your trading characteristics will be more than other races. Finally, if you play with the Fremen faction, your armies will be less expensive, and you will be able to establish relationships with the creatures on the planet.
Council Members
Once you have decided which faction to play with, you must choose two council members. Each faction has four council members with unique characteristics. Each council member has perks that shape your gameplay. For example, if you have a council member named Thufir Hawat from House Atreides, your agents will have an extra trait. In this case, it will be an advantage for you to produce more agent-type units.
Resources
The most important feature that distinguishes Dune: Spice Wars from other games is the way you use your resources. You must use your resources efficiently and carefully, and you must calculate the costs of new productions or regions you will conquer. When producing soldiers for security purposes in a region, you need to calculate the costs of those soldiers. If you are careless, you may find that your resources are starting to run out and your economy is collapsing. In addition to these, sandworm and sandstorm hazards can also cause military casualties.
