Dying Light 2 Story
What is the story of Dying Light 2?
As soon as the game starts, we encounter a cutscene about how we got to this day. Scientists have found a cure for the virus, but a new form of the virus has emerged as a group of military people want to use it for their own purposes. This new species is worse and more dangerous than ever before. Since there is no wall holding this new virus, this time it has spread even more around the world. This military group released a gas to some cities to treat them, but on the contrary, this gas killed people and created more viruses.
Aiden Must Learn What Happens To His Sister
As a child, our main character Aiden and his sister Mia were tested by some scientists and our goal is to find our brother. The reason why the experiments were carried out on children is that children are thought to be a little more immune to the virus and the virus changes in relation to brain age. Aiden travels to Villedor after learning of an informant who knows the whereabouts of Dr. Waltz, a doctor who experimented on Aiden and Mia when they were children, in the hopes that Dr. Waltz knows where Mia is. Aiden meets the informant, but is bitten by a dangerous and infected creature. Aiden is given a working GRE electronic key by the informant, who warns him that if Waltz gets his hands on it, Villedor is doomed. Aiden is also told to hand over the key to the "Fish Eye" to a woman named Lawan. The informant is then apprehended by Waltz and executed, while Aiden flees deeper into Villedor.
Aiden is nearly executed by fearful citizens due to a lack of a bio-marker, which tracks the progress of a person's infection, but is saved by Hakon, a local. Hakon explains that tensions in Villedor are high as a result of the recent murder of a Peacekeeper officer, Lucas, and the Peacekeepers believe the survivors of the Bazaar are to blame, risking a war between the two factions. Aiden obtains a bio-marker with Hakon's assistance, and the two attempt to smuggle him into Villedor's Central district, where the Fish Eye is located. Players can choose to support Carl and Sophie, the Bazaar's leaders, or Aitor, a Peacekeeper officer. As both sides prepare to go to war, they both promise Aiden that they will smuggle him into the Central District.
Whatever side Aiden takes, he discovers that Hakon murdered Lucas on Waltz's orders. Waltz confronts Aiden and steals the GRE key from him, demonstrating superhuman abilities in the process. Aiden follows Waltz to an abandoned car factory, where he uses the key to activate a console before Lawan intervenes, rendering Waltz unconscious long enough for Aiden to recover the key and flee. Lawan reveals that she was also a test subject for Waltz and seeks vengeance against him, as well as the fact that Lucas was murdered by Waltz after he discovered the GRE key.
Aiden and Lawan are able to enter the Central district with the key, where they witness the city's electricity being restored as a result of Waltz's use of the key. Aiden then meets with Jack Matt, the Peacekeepers' commander, and Frank, the former leader of the now-defunct Nightrunners. They both assign Aiden the task of reactivating the radio antenna atop Villedor's tallest skyscraper so that they can broadcast messages to the entire city and beyond, in exchange for Aiden's assistance in locating a surviving GRE doctor so that he can gain access to the GRE database.
Making Bad Choices
Aiden is rescued from the rubble by Lawan, who warns her that Waltz's experiments on him will cause him to turn. He can't, however, stop Lawan from pursuing Colonel Williams, the Renegades' leader. Williams claims to have stopped the missile strikes, but Waltz claims to have resumed them. Williams tells Aiden to go to the X13 lab to confront Waltz and stop the missiles, as he does not want Villedor to be destroyed.
Aiden and Lawan enter the complex and are taken aback to discover that X13 was supposed to be a GRE officials' survival shelter, complete with massive supplies stockpiles. After attempting to protect them from the Renegades, Lawan rescues Hakon, leaving Aiden to continue alone. He realizes as he travels through X13 that it is the same facility where he was experimented on.
Aiden confronts Waltz, who reveals that Aiden's memories were false and that Mia is Waltz's daughter, whom he has been attempting to cure for the past 15 years.
Waltz refuses to halt the missile launches because doing so would mean shutting down X13, which is required to cure Mia, forcing Aiden to fight him. Aiden eventually defeats Waltz, who succumbs to his injuries, but the GRE key is lost in the process. Lawan then tells Aiden that she intends to detonate explosives before the missiles can launch, destroying X13 and possibly herself in the process. Aiden must choose between saving Mia and saving Lawan.
- Aiden will take Lawan out of X13 if he goes to save her. Aiden, on the other hand, is unable to prevent the missile attack, which destroys Villedor and kills the majority of the population. Aiden then leaves the city due to his infection and continues his Pilgrim journey. Depending on the player's choices throughout the game, Hakon may accompany him out of the city.
- Aiden will take Mia out of X13 if he goes to save her. The explosion destroys X13, but the city is spared destruction. Mia succumbs to her weakened condition and is buried by Aiden shortly after. Villedor, meanwhile, falls under the control of the faction that Aiden favored the most. Aiden, however, eventually leaves Villedor due to his infection and continues his pilgrimage as a Pilgrim. Hakon may save Lawan from X13's destruction, or Lawan may leave the city with Aiden, depending on the player's choices during the game.
