Total War: WARHAMMER III Review

Total War: WARHAMMER III Review

The new game of a series I love so much is finally out. As someone who started the series with Rome Total War, I tried to spare time for each game that came out. Some were disappointed and some exceeded my expectations.

In this reviw, we will discuss the last game of the Warhammer trilogy. This time, our game goes beyond previous Total War games and offers a story-driven campaign mode. The game, which I think befits the series and gives a well-deserved ending, seems to have made the fans of the series happy.

7Very Good
  • Great variety of units
  • Story-driven gameplay
  • Design of battlefields
  • Somewhat difficult gameplay
  • A mixed diplomacy system for newcomers

Campaign Mode Offers So Much

Although I enjoyed the campaign story in Warhammer 2, the previous game in the series, Warhammer 3 goes above and beyond to provide a truly story-driven experience. However, I can say that there is a replayability issue. Because I was tired after the first attempt, I didn't want to put too much effort into the second. It's best to stick with the Mortal Empires storyline if you just want to pick a nation and conquer the world at your own pace.

Even if you set your own goals, sticking to them can be difficult and stressful. You will be dragged into wars that you do not want in the game, and it will tire you out after a while. Each Chaos realm you must attack and destroy in the game has its own dark god and unique challenges to overcome. This entangles you in high-quality, crowded battles. This feature enables you to play a scenario-based campaign mode, which has never been seen before in the Total War series. As a story-obsessed gamer, I'm hoping that the Total War series maintains this formula.

How Many Races Are There in Total War: Warhammer 3?

Total War: Warhammer 3 comes with eight races just like the previous titles in the series. Five factions are dedicated the Chaos Gods. Two factions represent the defenders in the mortal realms. The last one is a group of massive ogres.

  • Khorne: Juggernauts, Bloodletters, and Bloodthirsters were present in the CGI trailer for Warhammer 3 and is part of the daemonic roster accessible by players who choose to collect Skulls for the Skull Throne.
  • Nurgle: Nugle deals in decay and disease. His campaign mechanics include the cycle of death and rebirth. His unit roster includes cute frogs as well as many daemons who are eager to spread plague around the globe.
  • Slaanesh: One might argue that N'kari is more influential among the wealthy and more educated, he still revels in the slaughter of his fellow citizens.
  • Tzeentch: The Changer Of Ways also deals with deceit, lies and deceit. Sarthorael, the Everwatcher gave us a glimpse of the Lords of Change's abilities in the original game. Flamers, Pink Horrors and Burning Chariots just a few of many shielded units that the race has available. They focus on hit-and-run tactics.
  • Daemons Of Chaos: The faction, led by a customizable Daemon prince, fights under the banner Chaos Undivided and can recruit units from all four Chaos Gods.
  • Kislev: Tzarina Katarin Bogkha leads Kislev into battle as one of the most flexible rosters.
  • Grand Cathay: This is the largest human empire in Warhammer's world. It boasts a balanced unit roster that receives bonuses when achieving harmony.
  • Ogre Kingdoms: Total War Warhammer 3's pre-order bonus is the Ogre Kingdoms. This bonus is for a race that relies heavily on monstrous units, and takes a simpler approach to fighting.

Improved Mechanics

We have more siege options this time, with a focus on previous games. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage. Increasing the number and types of siege options makes defense more difficult. Although this is enjoyable when you are on the attacking side, it makes you believe that the defense structures you put up while defending are useless. The areas we fight appear to be massive, despite the fact that the map appears to be less detailed. The variety of diplomatic options in Warhammer 3 is one of the game's best features. In this series, I believe this is the first time we've seen so many options. Furthermore, the benefits of diplomatic agreements have increased this time.

For the first time, I can say that making an ally makes me feel like I have a true friend. You can sometimes borrow all of your friend's units for a battle, for example. Sometimes you can't help but wish I hadn't returned it. Unit diversity has also increased in general. This is a situation that broadens the scope of action and makes it more enjoyable. Finally, this game has the best tutorial introduction I've seen so far in the Total War series. As a result, it can be a very enjoyable start for newcomers to the series.
