About Game
Hurry along Germany’s oldest long-distance railway in its entirety, from the densely packed city of Leipzig, and out far east via Wurzen and Riesa into historical Dresden with Train Simulator’s Bahnstrecke Leipzig - Riesa Route Extension!
The line between Leipzig and Dresden dates back to the 1830s. It was built to fulfil the idea of linking the cities of eastern Germany, a bold bet and leap into the world of inter-city transportation. Ultimately the bet proved to be worthwhile, and the line soared in popularity.
It’s not always been smooth sailing, the Second World War took its toll on the line, but by the 1960s, with the line having already well surpassed its centenary, improvements began to be made, including the likes of electrification.
Further route upgrades have taken place in recent times, much of the line between Leipzig and Riesa is fitted with LZB for full high-speed operation, and the construction of the Leipzig City Tunnel transformed connectivity for S-Bahn services throughout the city and surrounding towns.
Tilt your way to Dresden with the DB BR 411 ICE -T, sporting the "Deutschlands schnellster Klimaschützer" livery, and take charge of S-Bahn Mitteldeutschland services with the silver and green DB BR 442 Talent 2 in 3, 4 and 5-car variations.
